CCR questions #4

Throughout the process, technology played a huge role in creating this magazine. My skills with a camera like action shots, long shots, close-ups, focusing on things in the fore or background got so much better. lighting was also a key feature that had to be just right. all of these challenges were overcome by practice. in the end I was happy with all of the photos I had in my magazine. Indesign was also a major technology that was used in this process. learning a new program is always tough at the beginning because it can be difficult to understand what tools to what and where to find them. Once you figure that out you then need to learn how to properly utilize these tools efficiently to create the best product possible. I feel like I did a sufficient job in this field.

CCR question #3

My production skills drastically improved throughout this process because I became much more familiar with the technology I was using. I had to take pictures for my magazines several times and each time I did they got progressively better and better. The design of my magazine went from lame because of a lack of diversity and pictures to a much better appealing magazine. In the beginning, I was a bit lost, in the way that I didn't know where to start and had no idea how to make the cover page look like I envisioned it in my head. but now I look back and see that I can do anything I want to through the use of Adobe InDesign.

Magazine Project- Feedback

The feedback I received from my midterm submission was very useful. It helped me put in page numbers. it also suggested that I should have more writing in my text. It also suggested that I need more variety of photos. I needed to work on the format of my TOCand the feedback suggested that I create more previews and put them in the left half of the screen.

CCR Questions #2 Draft

People who subscribe to Florida sports magazines are interested in learning more and keeping in touch with upcoming sports stars. The magazine connects with them by sharing inside information about high school and college sports players.in my audience engagement research, I found out that almost all of the people subscribing are 15-30. the majority of these people are very athletic so they will want to relate to the athletes in our magazines. this will draw them in and convince them to be permanent subscribers. From my distribution research, I have seen that most companies start by self-promoting themselves on social media. this is a good method because social media is primarily used by the age group 16-34 which is almost exactly the same as our audience age group. another effective way to distribute to our target audience is by putting stands near prime places such as high school sports games, or promotional gatherings. the key to this is getting people to know the brand so that it ca...

Creative Critical Reflection #1 Draft

My draft uses the conventions of the usual magazine by including pictures followed by articles. This method is used in everything from sports illustrated too cooking channels. The social groups range from High school students to middle-aged parents who are looking for updates on sports for their kids. Florida sports magazines use many conventions including several wide shots used to show players and the field.  The color of the title changes upon the main article in the magazine, for example in my magazine the main article is about Sarasota high school which main colors are orange and black. The text was wrapped around pictures to pop the pictures. it also provided photos of people who were in the article. this gives the reader an idea of what the players in the article look like. The social groups that are represented by the people in my pictures are high school athletes who want to go places playing soccer.
