Magazine Project- Audience Engagement Research/World Soccer

Image
World Soccer is a Large magazine company that has coverage of all types of soccer all over the globe. This magazine is for anyone truly interested in soccer. It gives all the facts of all the teams that you need to know. This might require a higher level of education because the format is a little bit more difficult to interpret. Our magazine is much simpler in the way that it is articles that give statistics in a simple way. This Magazine might also appeal to less people because it is focused on one sport instead of a variety like Florida Sports. We should be able to attract people from all kinds of different sports.

Magazine Project- Distribution Research

Many magazines use the same distribution techniques. They mail envelopes with subscription papers to houses to try to catch the eye of a potential subscriber. They can zone in a specific location that has their direct audience type, this way they are more effective in getting subscribers. Magazine companies can also show up to specific events that might hold potential subscribers so that they can either sponsor their magazine, just to get their name out in the open. They might set up a website that will draw new people or subscribers.

Magazine Project- Indesign class Activity

Using Indesign was a very neat new way of developing my magazine project. I was pretty comfortable with all of the software because I have used many different programs just like this one. I will most likely use this program for my quarter the revision submissions.

Magazine Project- My Target Audience

Research: Our magazine's main audience will be families. Statistically men watch and read more sports magazines than women, therefore, this magazine company is going to have more male subscribers. The audience is very broad in the way of education. A person of any education level can pick up our magazine and enjoy its content. Geographically speaking, Florida will be the main area that people will buy this magazine because it only contains Florida sports. Appeal: Our magazine appeals to these types of people for many reasons. First the covers photo is a picture that grabs the attention of a viewer. They see a player from a local soccer team and will want to keep reading. It has colors that will appeal to any gender but that look cool.

Magazine Project- Audience Engagement Research/ Sports Illustarted

Our Target audience is very similar to sports illustrated. Sports Illustrated has a target audience from 18-35. This is the time where people are in shape and active, so they want a magazine about sports or activities that involve effort. The level of education goes from High school graduates and beyond. anyone can read and understand the articles provided. They market themselves by sponsoring different sporting events and using social media including Instagram. They also have an online website that helps people find exactly which topics they might be interested in reading. We have made an Instagram page that focuses on the 18-35-year-old crowd.

Magazine Project- Marketing Plan

Social Media: I made an Instagram account to help spread the word about the new up and coming sports magazine company.

Magazine Project- Revisions

Cover Page: After doing some research on different sports magazines, I noticed that my subtitles on the cover page could use some adjustments.  need to make them more noticeable and better to look at. I also need to make my title the same font size and color as my partners. TOC: I researched lots of other sports magazines and I noticed that they had much more than 4 headlines. I need to add at least 5 more in to give the reader a better idea of what exactly is in the magazine. The picture needs to be smaller so that the cost of ink isn't as expensive. Article: The article needs more pictures and needs to be separated into two columns. Then I will apply wrap text onto the pictures so that it looks very clean and organized. I should also add a bit more words to make it more of an interesting article.
